Biologics Blog

Thanks for dropping by to this important new research blog looking at biologics and their use as a medical treatment.

Over the past few years biologics have become available as a treatment for various medical conditions in many different countries. In some places biologics are regulated in a different fashion to other drugs and medical devices.

There are a number of different biologic treatments available. Typically they are used in treatments for cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, psoriasis and Crohn’s disease. The most common types of biologics are Humira, Amevive, Epogen, Enbrel, Remicade, Herceptin and Orencia.

However the take up of biologics and prescription patterns can vary from country to country. In this research blog we are interested in finding about more about the journey from diagnosis to prescription of biologics. Indeed we are interested to know if you have been offered biologics as part of your treatment or in fact discussed them with you physician at all.

We are interested in the whole story of your condition and how you came to be prescribed or indeed not prescribed a biologic for you condition

We are particularly interested in the following questions?

  • What is your condition and what treatment have you been prescribed?
  • Which country are you based in?
  • How easy or difficult was it to be prescribed with a biologic treatment? If you have not been offered a biologic treatment do you know the reason why not?
  • What is the approximate annual cost of your biologic treatment if you are talking one?
  • What kind of information sources have you come across for biologics? How helpful were the health care professionals who treated you?

To take part in the research blog please simply go down to the bottom of the page and add you comments in the box provided. Alternatively you can reply to the comments and experiences of others.
