Systemic lupus erythematosus (often referred to as SLE or just Lupus) is a medical illness which is sometimes called a “great imitator” condition. “Great imitators “are medical conditions whose lack of specific symptoms makes them hard to diagnose.
Good examples of these conditions are cancers, multiple sclerosis, fibromyalgia, celiac, Addison’s’ disease, sarcodosis and Lyme disease. For this blog we would like to focus on lupus erythematosus; which itself covers a number of different conditions.
