In early January 2012 we put out a call to our members and readers to ask which topics they wished us to cover.  One of our readers has asked us to run a discussion blog which focuses on how people deal with the effects of chronic pancreatitis.

Pancreatitis is very simply inflammation of the pancreas.  The pancreas is an integral part of the digestive system which controls the flow of digestive juices into the small intestine.  The pancreas produces insulin and glucagon which are hormones that regulate sugar levels in your blood.

As with many conditions you can have either acute pancreatitis whereby the symptoms are present for a few days or chronic pancreatitis whereby the symptoms continue for years.Click here for more
