Watch a short video of Dr Hilary Jones talking about the use of Second Generation Prebiotics in treating IBS

Dr Hilary Jones comments: “Traveller’s diarrhoea, irritable bowel syndrome and general conditions related to lowered immunity are among the most common of all problems seen in the GP’s surgery and among the most difficult and frustrating to treat. Preventing them with the use of clinically-proven second generation prebiotic galacto-oligosaccharides such as those from Bimuno is a major step forward and will avoid a huge amount of inconvenient and unnecessary misery for thousands.” Click here for more

Patient experiences of ill-health can be an important source of information to other people with the same condition. Traditional health information has been based on facts and figures, not the experiences of other patients or carers of people with similar conditions. Today health websites can contain traditional health information, accounts or stories of people’s experiences of health, blogs about health and discussion boards. It is important to understand what impact these health websites have on patients and carers.

A research team in the University of Oxford are researching the effects of sharing online patient and carer health information. They wish to find the best way to incorporate people’s experiences into health websites. Click here for more

Chris Evans MP explains, “Many of those who live with Inflammatory Bowel Disease suffer in silence; too embarrassed or afraid to speak openly about a condition which affects every aspect of their day to day life. By calling for this debate I hope to raise awareness of a condition that affects 250,000 people in theUK.

Despite the challenges of living with the illness, there is no reason that people with the disease cannot realise their potential. Click here for more

It’s that time of year again when the cold weather is upon us and we are all trying hard to ward off the inevitable cold and flu viruses. Research shows that our immune systems are particularly vulnerable in the winter and it can be a challenge to stay healthy when we are also run down and stressed especially after December! Click here for more

Rheumatoid arthritis, sometimes called RA for short, is a specific type of arthritis that develops when the body’s own immune system attacks the joints, causing pain, stiffness and swelling.

That said, it is always wise to know the legal options available when an injury has been caused as a result of an accident or assault.

The most important thing to consider when pursuing legal action is finding a lawyer with adequate experience in brain injury claims. It is important your solicitor understands your injury and is able to locate the best medical advice.
