Treatment of Breast Cancer Blog

Tell your story in our new research blog

Treatment with any serious condition is always a stressful and difficult time. This is especially the case with any kind of cancer.
To explore these issues The Patients Voice has launched a new video blog to initiate a research discussion about the process of treatment of breast cancer.

One of the members of The Patients Voice who was diagnosed with estrogen resistant breast cancer five years ago, has made a video outlining her experiences of treatment.

She talks about radio therapy, CT scans, her experience of the Cromwell Hospital and her relations with her oncologists and other specialists. Marie talks us through the decisions she made in the treatment of her cancer and how it has affected her life.

To see Marie speak on her treatment please click on the video below.

Marie rises a lot of really interesting points in her vblog and we would really like to know your views on the following questions.

  • How soon after diagnosis did you begin treatment?
  • What did your treatment involve? What therapies, medications did you receive?
  • Did you make any decisions in your treatment process?
  • What kind of support did you receive and from who?
  • What was your experience of the treatment process how did you deal with it?
  • How are you coping now?

Obviously these are just suggestions so please bring up anything you think other readers of the blog will find of interest. Please do include links to any site you have found helpful.

Remember, a blog is really like having a conversation with lots of people at the same time and so please check back on the blog to see what others have said so that if you would like to add to their thoughts you can.

To take part, all you need to do is scroll down to the comments area, type in a nickname of your choice and then put your comments into the box. We look forward to reading your comments and, of course, thank you very much for your input!
